We really enjoyed our first attempt at speedrunning building Commander decks the first time around on Deck%, so we're over the moon (SPACE PUN) that Wizards sent us packs to open for Edge of Eternities and enabled us to do it all over again for a new set!
Actually getting to our Commanders after opening the packs was a little harder this time, with the set having way less viable Commanders (i.e. legendary creatures and now spacecraft too) than Final Fantasy, but we did both end up with one. That's a good thing, because last time we both just flipped one card and found what we were working with, so we get to see more of the packs this way.
Thanks to Wizards of the Coast for sending us the Edge of Eternities goodies seen in this video, as well as the Precon Precon episode before it.

We're so grateful that Wizards of the Coast decided to send us some of the product lineup for Edge of Eternities, allowing us to have another crack at the Precon Precon format. This was a pretty neat deck to peruse, with a solid mix of decent lands-matter mechanics and fun, new cards from Edge of Eternities.
This video is also the first appearance of our new studio (unless you count the Edge of Eternities ANZ Play Rewards ad we released recently). Look out for more fun stuff in a nicer environment soon!

All of the Power Nine appears on the Commander banlist and surprisingly, it's taken this long for any of them to show up for us. Extra turn effects are one thing, but getting one for 2 mana? That is a pretty low asking price, no matter who you are.
I'm pretty excited to see how we go with the rest of the Power Nine. I guess only Time (Walk) will tell how long it'll be before the next one.

I think this might be the most complicated card we've discussed yet. Shahrazad itself isn't necessarily too bad on its own, but the implications we discovered during (and after!) this episode for what happens with your Commander made our heads spin.
We needed actual rules references here, and even then we aren't 100% sure on what we think would happen. Better to just keep it banned so we don't have to come up with an actual answer, maybe?
Weird cards tend to lead to entertaining discussions around here, and this is no exception. Enjoy!

We had a lot of fun with the Final Fantasy set, but we had this episode burning a whole in our pocket the entire time. This was recorded so long ago - before we got any of the Final Fantasy stuff in our hand - that I forgot a lot of what we said at the time.
This ended up being a really fun look at some pretty gross card draw replacement effects, some of which are legal in Commander, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Enjoy!
